Hello everyone!
We had a busy week here in Grade 4 and in FP in general. Our trip to Job World was a smashing success as students ran about exploring and experiencing as much as they could. See pictures in the photos tab! Thursday and Friday we visited the Book Fair. I'm so thankful for the parent support - not only for the delicious snacks, but also for supporting a love of learning. My heart soared for those students carrying bags of books and excitedly flipping pages and sharing purchases with friends! IT was fantastic! Academically, we explored a few themes this week as well. We began to study fractions in Math while in Science we talked about life and cells as well as thought about the life and contributions of Stephen Hawking. In Writing we took some time to look at grammar and syntax while in Reading we began our book study on Number the Stars by Lois Lowry. Next week in Social Studies we will be looking at the variety of religions found in Korea and their effect on Korean culture. Also next week we will be having Book Week! Yay! Here is break down! Monday - Global Readers to World Leaders - Parents read to students in their mother tongue! Tuesday - Students read to pets! Wednesday - Book Character Day - Students may dress up as a book character of their choice (from a book they've read!) Thursday - Author Visit Day with Bryn Barnard Friday - Book Swap!* (Grade 4 will be running this one!) *Students are asked to bring in books they no longer want to swap! English or Korean! I hope you all have a great weekend!! - Mr. Baker
