Wow, what a week! Spirit week has been a boat load of fun! Tuesday's trip to the Seoul Zoo was a great day of adventurous hiking followed by lunch and a jaunt through the zoo to see some animals. Wednesday's Pajama Day saw us studying comfortably throughout the day with our teddies and finally have a frightful afternoon with a few episode's of Goosebumps. We had some snacks, too! Thursday we should more spirit with Twin day, and finally today we really showed our stripes. Sorry. Bad joke. Anyways, check out the pictures over in our photos tab. Academically speaking, we are off to a strong start in Term 2. In Reading we began to examine our nonfiction selection by choosing and learning from books about weather. In Writing, we started our unit on opinion writing after learning about the importance of selecting a proper thesis statement. In Social Studies, we continue working on our modern day Korea maps with symbols representing crops and minerals throughout the peninsula. In Math we starting thinking about rules in algebra using in and out boxes. Finally, in Science we opened our unit on matter with some demonstrations with ice cubes and our own bodies as particles. Fun stuff! Coming up next week! Parent teacher meetings! I'm looking forward to seeing ALL of you next Friday. Click here to make an appointment with me and any other teacher you would like to speak with. I recommend that you meet with the specialists as well! The following weekend, those playing soccer will do so at the Songdo 7s! A two day tournament happening on November 4-5. Work hard players! For Spirit Week: Monday, students should wear mismatched clothes for Misfits Monday. Then the big day, Halloween! Students should dress up for the day and bring a container to collect candy. Who's excited! I'm excited!!! :) Our spirit week ends on Wednesday with Retro Uniform Wednesday, when students can wear uniforms from the past as well as soccer uniforms or shirts and bling from special days.
